Shrine of St. John Neumann

Did you know that a the corner of 5th and Girard Ave in Philadelphia stands a large stone building, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church? From outside, St. Peter appears to be just another church among many such buildings in a city rich in Catholic culture. Beneath the church is a Shrine whose altar rests atop a glass case containing a man's remains, which are garbed in a wax mask and dressed in bishop's garb. The modesty of the Shrine's surroundings is a stark contrast to the fact that this Shrine is the resting place of one of the giants of the Catholic Church in the United States, Redemptorist Saint John Nepomucene Neumann. And that is surely the way St. John Neumann would want it.

We will be traveling by bus from ICC leaving at 9am and returning to Elkton at apx 4pm.

**You will need to bring a bagged lunch

We will have a guided tour of the Shrine and the Upper Church. Mass will be at 12:15 (concelebrated by Fr. Rich). Lunch will be after mass (bagged lunch). There will also be time to visit the Gift Store and Fr. Rich will lead us around the museum.

First come, first serve. Bus holds 50 people.
