Confirmation Prep and Retreat '25

Confirmation prep is for those entering 9th grade (or high school age) who have completed at least 8 years of religious education and are currently enrolled in a Religious Education program or attend a Catholic school at the start of the Prep program (9th grade and up).

According to Diocesan guidelines, "Confirmation Prep should never be equated with comprehensive youth ministry or adolescent catechesis... Parishes are to follow the Diocesan Guidelines for Confirmation when preparing young people for the reception of the sacrament...Preparation for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation may not begin before eighth grade...Catechesis for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a distinct program, separate from but integrated with other components of youth catechesis/youth ministry.

Eligible sponsor requirement: All Candidates will require an eligible sponsor; one who has been Confirmed, practicing Catholic, and is in good standing with the Catholic Church. It is Bishop Koenig's hope that one Godparent(s) of the Confirmation candidate act as a sponsor if available.
